Venezuela provided information on the detainees

The Venezuelan government has released the name and identity of a U.S. spy detained in Venezuela. They were detained while traveling between Venezuela's northwestern Falcon and Julia provinces.

Venezuelan state media say U.S. spies, including three others, were detained last Thursday near the largest oil refinery complex. One of them is John Heath Matthew. He is a former member of the US Navy. One of the three men who assisted him was a Sergeant Major in the Venezuelan National Guard.

The State Department or the White House declined to comment, despite a request from the news agency, according to Reuters. Parstude.
