A teacher has been accused of tying the hands and feet of two child students at a madrasa in Ashulia, Savar. When the video of the beating spread through social media, there was anger among the common people. At one stage, the agitated locals beat the accused teacher Md. Ibrahim.

 

It is learned that Shariful Islam (13) and Mahfuzur Rahman (13), both students of Madhupur Jabalenur Madrasa in Sreepur, Ashulia, were severely injured last Friday (September 11) by beating them with canes in front of other students.

A CCTV video that went viral on social media showed accused teacher Ibrahim brutally beating student Shariful Islam with a cane in a room of the madrasa. At one stage, the child Shariful grabbed the teacher's leg, but he continued to beat him. At the same time, another child named Mahfuz was found lying on the table with his legs tied with a rope after being beaten.

Meanwhile, on Monday (September 14) morning, when the video of the beating of a child student went viral on social media Facebook, Ashulia police quickly visited the spot. Locals have demanded immediate arrest of the teacher and bringing him under the law. Besides, the family members of the two children rescued them and provided first aid.

An attempt was made to contact the teacher of the madrasa but he was not found.

Officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police Station Md Kamruzzaman said police had been sent to the spot. However, no written complaint has been received yet. If any complaint is received from the children's family, the matter will be investigated and action will be taken.
