Sheikh Rehana, the youngest daughter of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and younger sister of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, celebrated her 75th birthday on Sunday. He was born on 13 September 1955 in Tungipara, Gopalganj.



On 15 August 1975, the assassins brutally killed Bangabandhu and Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa and their family members. At that time, she survived because her husband M Wazed Miah was living with his elder sister in Karlsruhe, Germany. From there the two sisters moved to India. Sheikh Rehana later moved to London with his family. Sheikh Hasina returned to the country in 1981 and took the helm of the Awami League.


Despite being the child of the largest political family in the country, Sheikh Rehana has never been at the forefront of active politics. However, in the spirit of the liberation war and the movement for the establishment of democracy, Awami League President Sheikh Hasina and other active politicians have been inspired and supported. Sheikh Rehana has always played a role in philanthropic work.

The house allotted in his name in Dhanmondi has also been given to the country. Bangabandhu's youngest daughter Sheikh Rehana is known to everyone as 'Little Apa'. Professor. Shafiq Ahmed Siddique and Sheikh Rehana have three sons and daughters. The eldest daughter, Tulip Siddique, is a Labor MP in the British Parliament. Son Radwan Mujib Siddique is working in an international organization in Dhaka. And the youngest daughter, Ajmina Siddique, is the editor of Global Risk Analysis at Control Risks in London.
