 'Policeman's conduct should not tarnish his image'

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Moha. Shafiqul Islam said that care should be taken so that the image of a policeman is not tarnished due to his behavior.

He was speaking at the DMP's monthly crime meeting at the Rajarbagh Police Auditorium on Monday morning.

Warning the police members, the commissioner said that if there was any criminal relationship with any police members, they would be identified and action would be taken against them.

He said people's trust and love for the police force will increase if they perform their duties following the country's customary law.

"We have overcome the Corona situation," the police commissioner said. Now we have to work hard. We need to provide complete information to the criminals in the database that we have. If an officer fails to provide information, he or she will be barred from investigating.

Regarding drug addicts, he said that in order to eradicate drugs, a list of drug addicts has to be made. Identify drug addicts and talk to their families. They need to cooperate in every way so that they can return to normal life.

The DMP commissioner said that if necessary, arrangements should be made to talk to the families of drug addicts and send them to correctional facilities. Even then, if the drug addicts are not corrected, legal action will be taken against them.

Meanwhile, the DMP Commissioner handed over the prizes to the winners in various categories in recognition of their good deeds at the monthly crime review meeting in August this year. The first division of DMP's crime division was Gulshan division, the first division of DMP's intelligence division was Detective Tejgaon division and the first division of traffic division was Gulshan division.

DMP Additional Commissioner of Police (CTTC) said at the meeting. Monirul Islam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Admin) Mir Rezaul Alam, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime and Operations) Krishnapad Roy and other senior officials were present.
