 In India, a three-storey building collapsed, killing 20 people


The death toll from a three-storey building collapse in Bhiwandi near Mumbai in India on Monday morning has risen to 20. The country's media reported this information on Tuesday.


The country's media reported yesterday that 31 people had been rescued from the rubble of the building after the crash. In addition to the country's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), local residents took part in the rescue operation.


According to preliminary reports, the building of 21 flats collapsed at around 3.30 am that morning. All the occupants of the flat were asleep at the time. An investigation is underway into the collapse of the building.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his condolences over the accident. He conveyed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished speedy recovery to the injured.
