Corona vaccine for everyone is not before 2024: Serum Institute

The most coveted item in the world right now is the coronavirus vaccine. Different countries are working on this vaccine. However, Adar Punawala, the top official of the Serum Institute, spoke of disappointment.

He said the corona vaccine for everyone is not coming now. This may take another four to five years.

He claims that the world will have to wait until the end of 2024 to make enough covid antidote.

Adar made this claim in an interview with a daily. According to his calculations, at least two doses will be needed to get rid of Covid 19 infection like measles or rotavirus. In that case, at least 1,500 crore vaccines are needed for Kovid patients all over the world. However, it may not be possible for everyone to get it at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.

Adar Punawala, an official at the Serum Institute, claims that pharmaceutical companies do not have the capacity to deliver vaccines to people around the world. Pharmaceutical companies have not been able to increase production capacity so fast that the vaccine can reach all Kovid patients in the world in a short time.

The Serum Institute already has contracts with five international organizations, including Oxford University and the Swedish company AstraZeneca's Corona Ticker, as well as Novavax.

In addition, the name of the serum is being heard for making the Russian-made antidote 'Sputnik-V'. However, even though the agreement has not been completed yet, they have a target of making 1 crore antidotes. Source: Anandabazar
