Army patrols the border, Bangladesh strongly protests Myanmar

Dhaka has strongly protested the summoning of Myanmar's ambassador to Myanmar over the patrolling of Myanmar troops in fishing trawlers near the Teknaf border and the deployment of troops in Rakhine. A letter of protest was handed over to Myanmar's ambassador to the foreign ministry on Sunday, in addition to a verbal protest. Director General of the Myanmar Cell of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Delwar Hossain confirmed the matter to Ittefaq.

On Friday, about 1,000 Myanmar troops entered the tense Rakhine state, patrolling three points along the Teknaf border. Dhaka sees the suspicious movements of the army as a ploy to create tension on the border and destabilize Rakhine.

According to foreign ministry sources, Myanmar's ambassador to Dhaka Aung San Suu Kyi was summoned to the foreign ministry on Sunday afternoon for a new military rally near the border without provocation. Dhaka has called on Myanmar to take immediate steps to stop the deployment of troops on the border and end all misunderstandings.

It is learned that due to the army rally, there is a danger of spreading new fear among the Rohingyas who are now in Rakhine. Dhaka has taken that step to avoid any untoward situation.
